Southern California

“The Desert” can bring rain and snow, or cloudless weeks above 90 degrees. This section covers Days 1-30, miles 0-570, Campo to Tehachapi, California.

The Sierra

Postholing through snow-covered passes above 10,000 feet can be grueling. Fortunately grand views are a constant distraction. This section covers Days 31-59, miles 570-1,090, Tehachapi to South Lake Tahoe, California.
